IntroductionAbortion is a polarizing topic that everyone will have their own opinion on. Abortions have an increasing number of cases all over the world. All of these cases have factors such as social & economic issues. As the Merriam-Webster dictionary mentions, the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus: such as a spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus during the first 12 weeks of gestation. Since abortions are much of a controversial topic, there are many sides to it. The two main sides/groups are pro-life and pro-choice. According to the article “Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice, a person who is pro-life believes that the government has an obligation to preserve all human life. A person who is pro-choice believes that individuals have unlimited autonomy with respect to their own reproductive system. People who strongly believe in abortions, claims that anti-abortionists are truly against women’s right to choose what she does with her body. In some countries, abortions is legal, whereas the other countries don’t permit abortions. Abortions can account for over 70,000 maternal deaths all over the world. It came a long way from physical trauma to less pain. With advancements in the medical field, there are various ways that the abortion procedure is done. Each country has their own way of government, their way of religion statutes & cultural background. Most countries have legalized abortion. Abortion & childbirth complications are the leading cause of maternal deaths worldwide. Reasoning Of AbortionsThere are many factors that cause abortions. Some are social, religious and economic. Pro-choice believes that a woman has their rights to their bodies so they forgot about the new life forms. Economic issues have also caused abortions. Poverty and insufficient funding have promoted abortion. Most young mother doesn’t have a stable income to support themselves or an unborn child. Another cause of abortions is abusive sexual acts (rape pregnancy). Rape is one of the biggest reasons why people abort children. When rape happens, one didn’t intend on having/keeping the kid. So, therefore, abortion must happen. According to a “national sample of women” it states that there was an estimated of 32,101 pregnancies result from rape each year. 50% of those women underwent abortions. According to the fact sheet that Guttmacher Institute has provided online, it states that in the years of 2010-2014 the abortion number were statistically significant. In most developing countries, there have been 49.3 million abortions. Advantages Of AbortionsAborting an unexpected child gives young women a chance to finish/pursue their education. According to article/blog “The Drop Out Crisis and Teen Pregnancy” written by Olivia Marshall states that back in 2011 1.3 million high school students who dropped out; 30 percent of girls cite pregnancy or parenthood as a key reason of why they left school. Cause a young woman may not have the resources to still be in school & be able to take care of the child. Abortion has also been a help to women with health problems. Women who have diseases such as heart disease, hypertension, and anemia have been able to avoid serious medical complications with abortions. There are many other advantages. Parents used this method to control the family size. Such as being in a family of 6, you feel like having another one is too high so you abort it. Rape victims also use abortions as an advantage. Rape victims wouldn’t want to keep the unborn child because all of the psychological trauma that the child would bring. Removal is the best solution to rape victims. Although they’ll always remember it.DisadvantagesAbortions bring brutality to the unborn child. Abortion is the removal (murder) of the fetus. So basically causing pain to the unborn child. The fetus didn’t have much of a chance to survive. Abortion can lessen the chances of the woman to have a child in the near future. The procedure interferes with the uterine wall, leads to total damage. According to Ramah International, a non-profit ministry, states that “abortions can cause blood clots in the uterus, heavy bleeding and a cut or torn cervix”. Abortions also promote sexual irresponsible behavior. After their first abortion, they get more careless. They feel like they can easily get rid of the pregnancy. The Immorality Of AbortionsThere’s a lot of human beings who believe that abortion is wrong, which are called pro-life. I am one of those human beings. Abortion is wrong in certain ways. There are many reasons why people have abortions, but I wouldn’t consider it the best idea. Abortions cause financial & health issues. Major issues. That’s murder. You’re depriving the fetus of a future to life. It has a right to life just like any other human being. The Protestant ViewABORTION IS MURDER! Although it hasn’t formed into a human being yet. You’re still killing a living cell with a heartbeat. In the beginning, God created 10 commandments. Those commandments were rules in life that you have to live by. The 6th commandment is “You Shall Not Murder”. You shall not murder another human being or anything living. if you don’t abide by these laws, you shall go to hell. There are many aspects of it, but the main idea of it is “You Shall Not Murder.” Thou shall be condemned to hell. According to Pew Research Center, 70% of white evangelical Protestants think abortion should be illegal in all or most cases. That proves that most Christians are against abortion. SocietySociety is very biased when it comes to this topic. They are very bipolar with their decision. One minute they’re against it, then the next they’re especially if it’s their friend that’s pregnant. See parts of society believe that if you are not financially stable enough or grown enough for a child then you should abort it. Some households are just not fit for a child, especially if it’s their teenage daughter. According to Pew Research Center, currently, 57% says that abortion should be legal in all or most cases. HealthAbortions can cause a lot of health problems for women. There have been many studies that show evidence that most women experience negative effects after an abortion. According to After Abortion, some of the risk factors are perceived pressure from other, feelings of stigma and exposure of anti-abortion picketing. Approximately 60% of women who undergo an abortion, had suicidal thoughts, 28% actually attempting suicide. Some women experience symptoms of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). There are over 600,000 cases of abortion induced PTSD. PTSD is a psychological dysfunction that causes the traumatic experience to shut down self-defense mechanism. ConclusionAbortion is a social, medical, religious and economic issue. There are many advantages & disadvantages but they almost measure equally. Young parents should thoroughly think it out and strongly consider before an abortion done. This is more than a choice to be made but a child’s life to be saved. I am for the rights of the unborn baby. They have a right to live just as any other human being. There are many other options than abortions. For instance, adoption is a great choice. A couple that’s unable to conceive their own child & would like to give love to a child, can adopt one.
