For the companies especially in the food industry, employees’satisfaction is a must when you are facing with ‘n’ number of competitors. But,all three employees are somewhat agree that they are not that satisfied withtheir salary and benefits package. Thecompany should try to add an attractive benefits package if the company cannotincrease the salary range. The benefits package is not in the hands of theorganization. It is the responsibility of the organization to find the middleground where it satisfies both the employees as well as the third-party serviceproviders without effecting its profitability because no company wants to losetheir share of profit.  Their satisfaction with their roles andresponsibilities, they do have some factors where they are quite dissatisfiedwith their job. It is a known fact that it’s a very hard task to satisfy eachand every employee in the company. Forsome employees, it’s not always the monetary benefits they get at theworkplace, it might be non-monetary benefits or the recognition they get fortheir hard work or the opportunity to learn new things which helps them toprogress in career. But for others, it might be monetary benefits that attractsthem towards this position or encourages them to work more effectively andefficiently. PartB: Salary Survey (25 Marks)Supervisorsare the connecting points between the company’s top management and thelow-level management. They can lead and supervise people same as Managers. Itis essential for the company to know the satisfaction level of their employees.

The salary survey helps the company to know whether the employees are satisfiedwith their salary or not as well as what the competitors are paying for thesame position. For a company like A&W, it is very important to have acompetitive advantage of having good salary package backed by efficientbenefits package.Forthe Supervisor position at A&W, the salary range is $10 – $15 per hour (Glassdoor, n.d.).Whereas, the salary range for the same position in McDonald’s is $10 – $19.75 (Indeed, n.d.

) per hour and BurgerKing is $12 – $16 per hour (Glassdoor, n.d.).

The averagesalaries for the Supervisor position is in between $12.50 and $14.Bycomparing to what the competitors are paying to their employees, A & W paysa little less than that of Burger King. Thecompany should think of increasing the salary range to $13- $16. This rangekeeps the A & W in line with that of McDonald’s and Burger King. Thisincrease in salary won’t have huge effect or impact on the company’s profitability.

This increase in the salary also helps the company to retain their workforceand reduces turnover rate as well as with this step the company can reduce itshiring and training costs. Even though the company would be spending more interms of salaries, it can save the money in terms of hiring and training newemployees.Thebase salary can be decided based on the employees’ experience, skills and howwell the employee adapts to the company’s policies and procedures.  Part C: Benefits PackageForthe companies, especially in the food industry, creating an attractive andefficient compensation and benefits package is a very difficult job.

Thecompetitor companies keep on improving their package in order to attract theefficient and skilled employees from other companies. A & W is not anexception for this scenario.Reasonsto have an efficient benefits package:a.      Helpsto increase to appeal to work for A&Wb.

Increasesretention rate c.      Increasesemployees’ satisfaction level which will have a direct impact on theirperformance.d.

Thebenefits package will have added value to the salary offered.Asidefrom the base salary, the company should also include a benefits package whichconsists of:a.      2weeks paid vacationb.     3weeks medical leavec.      100%Health Insuranced.

80%of Dental and eye careWiththe help of effective benefits package, the company can increase the retentionrate as well as attract the skilled and efficient employees. Mostorganizations do not offer immediate benefits from the beginning. There is usuallya probation period where the fit is determined by both the organization and theemployee- and henceforth the benefits are offered. A quantifiable assessment isthat benefits usually cost employers 1.

24-1.4 times of the cost of employment. Thus,an employee earning a base package of 24000 a year may in fact cost the companyupto 33000 per year. This is one reason why organizations do not tent to offer benefits immediately, but at a later stage when they can assume a long-term commitment from the employee.Onthe other perspective, an employee can be motivated to a long-term future withthe organization through the benefit structure. Most organizations offerbenefits through a third-party insurer, who normally offer across the boardbenefit package for many employers. Thus, even while an employee may feelunderpaid, a lucrative benefit structure may still hold him to an organization.
